the sovereign god who is faithful

It is amazing to me that God, the powerful, mighty God of all Creation is faithful, always good, always working for the best for His Creation. Unlike the mythology of the Greeks and Romans with Zeus or Jupiter being the "head god" Elohim is the sovereign God of All, not just of the world or the universe, but God of All and as such is transcendent, the supreme power.

Yet God is utterly faithful to His Covenant with us, His creations. God asks for our attention and eventually our trust in response to God's promise to restore us to all God created us to be. With each moment of comfort, each glimmer of hope, each bit of healing, each tiny stop forward we learn to see our true selves, the beloved daughter (or son) of the Elohim, the I AM who is faithful to His promises to His creation.

There is certainly nothing like that in earthly experience where each day brings a new reveal: a historic figure disclosed as not the perfect super-hero of legend, an evangelist with an out-of-control ego, libido or greed, politicians and celebrities vying for new highs of five star self-will-run-riot, family and friends who turn out to be all too human...and the most horrible of all, the stark reality of our own feet of clay.

It is no wonder it is a poser, this God who loves us, who longs to restore us to His household, who knows our every fault but counts it as nothing compared to our utter value as His beloved child.

That child is me, it is you, it is your loved one incarcerated behind concrete and iron or bound by any kind of personal prison. God loves us each and all with a redemptive love that is truly impossible to understand except as God gives us Grace to explore a life of seeking God.

Elohim, Your power is beyond my ability to comprehend and Your faithfulness amazing. Yet You faithfully care for me: teaching, leading, loving, restoring with such tenderness, such persistence. I do not have the words to express my love for You. You know all of me so I know my words are not necessary! AMEN

Jann's son was incarcerated.  She longed for a community where she could connect with others dealing with similar issues.
